Ethyl alcohol or ethanol: characteristics and properties

Randi Group is a producer of ethyl alcohol from wine-related materials (marc, lees, wine). The production of ethyl alcohol takes place in plants in Italy, Australia and Spain. Natural ethyl alcohol, or natural ethanol, appears as a colourless liquid with a characteristic, pungent smell and a slightly sweet, burning taste. It tends to be volatile and extremely flammable. Ethyl alcohol for food consumption, also known as food-grade alcohol, has an alcohol concentration of approximately 96% volume. It is used in the production of liqueurs, fortified wines and other spirits. Ethyl alcohol for industrial uses differs in terms of alcoholic concentration and organoleptic characteristics depending on customer requirements. It is mainly used in the production of biofuels.
