TARTARIC ACID <<<back

The raw material for the production of natural tartaric acid is the CALCIUM TARTRATE obtained in the distillery along with the ethyl alcohol from the processing of lees and marcs containing potassium bitartrate.
Only an industry using the calcium tartrate of the above kind as raw material can declare to be a producer of natural tartaric acid.

The TARTARIC ACID produced in our plants with the degree of purity as requested by the worldwide pharmacopoeias where it is quoted, is selected according to a wide range of granulometries in order to meet the requests by the different users of this product.
Its applications are many-sided:
- in the enological industry
- in the foodstuff industry*
- in the chemical industry (cosmetics/ trichological, galvanic, textile, photographic)
- in the pharmaceutical industry
- in the building industry (When destined to the building sector the product is grinded and turned to a very fine powder that, thanks to the addition of a natural anticaking agent, remains perfectly free-flowing to the moment of application).

*The TARTARIC ACID is included in the list of the food additives established by the European Union under the code E 334, the use of which is regulated by the law (D.M. no. 209 of 27/2/96 and subsequent modifications). The additives are divided into families and according to their role they are given a code, effective in all the Union countries, generally composed of the letter E (for Europe) followed by 3 or 4 digits.
